If you watch my YouTube videos, you will know that I purchased the Zoeva rose gold makeup brushes. These are gorgeous, good quality, affordable brushes that I love using. They are much more inexpensive at only £49 for 8 brushes which is around £6 per brush! Comparing this to MAC brushes which can be £20-£30 for just one, you've got a real good bargain here!
The set comes with 8 brushes (see below) with rose gold trimming and a pouch which is nice and spacious and great for when travelling.
NOT my picture! My brushes are wet from being washed, so I couldn't photograph them! [source]
Let's take a look at the brushes:
106 Powder: In my opinion, this brush is the perfect size for powder. It's not too big but not too small either and it's really easy to apply powder where I need it. The bristles are very soft and I love it!
102 Silk Finish: This is one of my favourite brushes! It is perfect for face products (foundation/BB cream etc) and I love the finish it gives. The bristles are quite dense and make it really easy to buff and blend.
127 Luxe Sheer Cheek: This brush is probably my least favourite BUT It's still good. It is the least soft and I think the shape could be a little better, but other than that, I like how it applies my blush. It picks up the product well. Mine came slightly frayed/out of shape, but after using it, it is in a reasonable shape.
110 Face Shape: This brush is quite multifunctional, because you can use it for contouring, cream blusher and lots more! It's the brush I use the least, because I rarely contour or use cream products, but it is very good if you do those often.
142 Concealer Buffer: As the name would suggest, this is for concealer. It is very similar to the Silk Finish brush but much smaller. It's great for blending concealer on blemishes or redness and for more precise areas. I prefer using my finger under my eyes though, since it's much more gentle. I love this brush!
231 Petit Crease: This brush is great for blending in the crease and it hold colour well. It is, again, not as soft as the others and can be very slightly spiky, but overall it works great. I think, because it is made from natural rather than synthetic hairs (unlike some of the others) it is less soft.
227 Soft Definer: This is apparently a dupe for the MAC 217 brush and I have to say, this is another one of my favourites. It is sooooo soft and is great for applying colour all over the eyelid. It is also great for blending colours together and everyone needs a brush like this!
317 Wing Liner: Finally, we have a brush for winged liner. This is probably another of my least favourites, just because, for liner, it is quite flimsy, however, I work with it and can get the colour on my lid. I also sometimes use this for eyebrows, because it's angled and works fairly well.
So that's it! If you'd like to see a video/post on how I clean my brushes, let me know!
Question of the blog: Have you tried Zoeva brushes?
